Based in the North East of Scotland, with over 11 years’ experience in the financial services industry, I’ve built my career from the ground up, starting as a financial administrator straight out of university and progressing into paraplanning, with time spent in an adviser role along the way. That journey has given me a well-rounded perspective of the advice process and, importantly, a clear understanding of what advisers truly need from their paraplanner.
I’ve spent much of my career working as an in-house paraplanner, partnering closely with advisers and gaining a strong feel for both the technical detail and the bigger picture of financial planning. I focus on producing clear, accurate work, especially recommendation reports, translating complex advice into language clients can genuinely understand. I established ELM Paraplanning to offer advisers flexible, tailored support that feels like an extension of their business. I shape my approach around each adviser’s way of working, fitting into their processes and systems to deliver seamless paraplanning support. My aim is simple: to take pressure off advisers and give them more time to focus on what matters most - building relationships with their clients.
I’m passionate about continuous development and maintaining high standards in everything I do. Having achieved the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, I am now working towards Chartered status, ensuring I remain technically up to date while continually refining my skills and attention to detail.
Outside of work, you’ll often find me making the most of the outdoors - whether that’s walking, running, horse riding, or simply enjoying a good book in the garden.

Absolutely. We take confidentiality and data protection very seriously and adhere to strict standards at all times. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), and your clients’ information will only ever be used for the purpose of completing the work you’ve requested. It will never be shared beyond what is necessary.

You can scale support up or down as your workload changes, and we can work alongside your existing team to provide extra capacity during busier periods, helping to manage peaks in workload without adding pressure. It’s also a practical solution for firms that don’t require a full-time paraplanner but still need reliable, professional support.

No, we do not currently charge VAT.
No, we offer a flexible, ‘pay as you go’ service, so there’s no requirement for a retainer. That said, we’re always happy to discuss this if your firm would prefer a different arrangement in the future.
We aim to be as flexible as possible and will always agree timescales with you in advance. For standard cases, we typically deliver within 7 working days once all information has been received. More complex cases may take longer, but this will be discussed with you at the outset.
Yes, in certain circumstances. We can join meetings either in person (depending on location) or via video call, just let us know what you need.
No, this isn’t a service we provide.
We’ll set you up with a secure SharePoint folder where you can upload your case documents. Once completed, your reports will also be saved there for easy access.
This will depend on the type of work required. For example, for a suitability report, we would typically need a completed fact find, relevant meeting or call notes, risk profiling details, information on any existing policies, and a clear summary of your recommendations and rationale. Don’t worry - we’ll provide a checklist outlining everything needed.
ELM Paraplanning is not authorised or regulated by the FCA. Responsibility for the advice given to your clients, and for the final content of any reports or research we prepare on your behalf, remains with you.
